A CORE PROFESSIONAL VALUES OTHER PROFESSIONALS
In the business world, is it very ethical to value other professionals time, content and pay for it. It is only in our clime here that a Professional will say another professional is too expensive.
As a player in the Learning and Development space, I don’t take my colleagues for granted. I pay their fee as stated or negotiated or as my budget is and agreement reached.
Sadly some of us actually take advantage and refuse to pay or decide to pay peanuts without explanation.
More worrisome is the scenario where you get a deal and you are well paid for it, but plead with your colleague to come render probono service as a give back, and you “chop and clean mouth” and only hail them with “guy you were on point.”
Some Plateau State based Consultants and Entrepreneurs MUST stop this like since 1930.
Recently I was on a colleague’s platform to train his staff along side with him. We agreed on the fee and he paid 100% minutes after I was done, plus better lunch packs to go with it.
I know of a colleague in Abuja who pays his guest in full even before the event, that one will even help the anointing to deliver correctly.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we can actually do better than we currently are doing.
Having to wrack one’s brain to tailor contents to fit into specific training needs is serious work.
Next time you want to bring a colleague professional, deliberately discuss the fees and agree on it, make we for no spoil tomorrow ni ooo.
If you can’t afford a particular professional fee now, you may later or try another person who may be lesser in fee.
Let a prophet have some honour in his home na!!!!
