Again I say, train and treat your staff well…
I received loads of comments from yesterday’s broadcast and it clearly underscores the simple fact that, if you train and treat your staff well, they will take care of what brings money into the business. THIS IS KEY!
Are there bad staff or employees? Yes …and alot of them are as a result of recruitment error.
Sentiment rather than competence and merit are usually at play and the end result is usually disastrous.
Never hire someone you cannot fire, but someone can be so resourceful that even when they leave, you still need them services, their competence, their profiles on your bid documents or corporate profiles.
Organisations should learn to stick to its policies and procedures and not act in a manner that sets bad precedence which cannot be followed in future.
There can be exceptional performance, but it MUST be justified to warrant any thing against the laid down procedures.
How do you explain a CEO, arbitrarily promoting a staff or proclaiming a salary increase or notch just because of a feel good moment?
That’s highly unprofessional!
When you hire professionals, allow them to work and pay them what’s agreed as negotiated.
The day you start feeling you are all powerful as a CEO, your end is near and will happen sooner than you think.
_If you learnt anything from this, kindly share with someone out there._
